DAY 1: FES ---> IFRANE ---> MIDDLE ATLAS MOUNTAINS ---> ZIZ VALLEY ---> MERZOUGA DESERT
We start the 3-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech and head towards the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first break takes us to Ifrane, famous for its low temperature, snow, and the alpine-style houses; no wonder it is called the Switzerland of Morocco.
Continuing our desert trip, we traverse the Middle Atlas region, pausing to explore the cedar forests to observe the Barbary macaques, a unique primate species native to the region.
From here, we continue through Midelt and Rich, where we’ll stop for lunch along the way. The timing is flexible, allowing you to enjoy your meal whenever you prefer during the journey.
After that, we head to the Sahara Desert, driving through the Tizi-n-Tilghmt pass, and a picturesque panorama of the Ziz Valley, full of palm trees, awaits our admiration.
By mid-afternoon, we reach Merzouga, where you will switch to camels and begin the ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes. The route is calm and gives you plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings before reaching the top of a high dune to enjoy a magical sunset.
Finally, we arrive at the desert camp. After a traditional dinner, you will gather around the campfire, enjoy Berber drum music, and dance under the stars before you go to sleep in a comfortable private tent.
Driving distance: Approximately 500 km
Driving time: Approximately 7 hr 30 min
DAY 2: MERZOUGA DESERT ---> RISSANI ---> TODRA GORGES ---> DADES GORGES
Today, we recommend waking up early to enjoy the beautiful sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, we will depart from the camp to Merzouga by camel or 4×4.
We leave the Merzouga Desert and head to Rissani, the ancient capital of Tafilalet. If your visit falls on Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday, you will have the opportunity to explore its traditional market.
After a stroll through the Rissani market, we continue to Erfoud, where you can optionally visit a fossilized marble workshop. We then drive through the palm groves of Touroug and Tinejdad before reaching the spectacular Todra Gorge.
At Todra Gorges, you will enjoy panoramic views of the valley and the old Kasbahs, and then we will head to the Grand Canyon, where we will have free time to walk and explore this natural spot. We will continue on the way towards the Dades Valley.
By evening, we will reach your riad, where you will have dinner and rest for the night.
Driving distance: Approximately 310 km

A mere 20 Kilometrs from Ouarzazate lies the famous Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed Ksar built from traditional mud-brick structures. Furthermore, the Kasbah has appeared in many movies and TV series, including Gladiator, The Mummy, Game of Thrones…
